Every year I invest in a cup future, I usually slap a 20 down on a team everytime I have a few extra bucks. Last year I had a good chunk on Colorado and a small chunk Carolina wich did present a nice hedge for a decent profit. Any opinions on a team with some value? Do you see any overpriced/underpriced teams? I did invest a little on Washington but that will most likely be used for butt wipe

without looking at the prices (it makes me sick to see books NEVER offering any value - esp. those clowns who lower prices but never raise any - yeah they are on the ball) but i would NOT be surprised to see an all-canada final four: edmonton/vancouver and ottawa/toronto. naturally espn/abc would get creamed in ratings YAYAYAY! if that were to happen. if had to pick team id say if you could get ottawa at 15/1 or higher that might be okay. but unlike last year (when we had great prices on san jose 30/1 and montreal 100/1) i just dont see any team worthy of a surprise future with any value.

I know what you mean abot a book stealing on their futures. The greek has EDM at +5000 and on the other spectrum we have TB at +1400 what a joke. TB is a much improved team but +1400? Here is a team that I believe has won 3 of their last 10 +900 to win the conference and +1400 to win the cup. I guess that means if they get to the finals they will be favored over the western conf champs. Lets see do I want St. Louis at 14 or Tampa Bay at 14? Horrible pricing!!!

i recall the stardust had the yankees at even to win the pennant - and even to win the world series! i asked gaming if the stardust should be censored for selling a yank world series ticket WITHOUT informing the buyer he/she could have new york at even to win the pennant, and they said they didnt see anything wrong with that! meanwhile i maintain that it was defrauding the customer and a well-known former sports book director said the dust (bb futures) was an "embarassment to the industry".

best one was when i went into excaliber - while doing a column on futures - and asked sid diamond why he LOWERED all his future prices but did not RAISE any, and he screamed: "ITS NOT OUR POLICY TO RAISE PRICES!" yeah, theres a guy who knows how to book. and everyone dogs me for how i behave?

I put down a little bit on Dallas when they were at 15 to 1 earlier in the season and thats the only future wager I have placed so far.

IMO I don't think either Detroit, Philly, Colorado or Boston will win Lord Stanley...
and I really like BB's prediction of an all Canadian final four!! (Candian Pride /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )
